Each year we hold Carers Rights Day to bring organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
This year Carers Rights Day is on Friday 30 November.
Carers Rights Day: Caring for Your Future
Having the right information at the right time can make all the difference when you’re looking after someone.
Every day 6,000 people become carers but often it’s not something we’ve planned for. This Carers Rights Day we’re focusing on supporting people to prepare for the future through our theme: Caring for Your Future.
We hold Carers Rights Day to:
- Make carers aware of their rights
- Let carers know where to get help and support
- Raise awareness of the needs of carers
Hundreds of organisations across the UK hold an event or activity for Carers Rights Day to help people in their community find out about their rights as a carer, and where to go for support.
Whether you host a coffee morning, benefits drop-in session or an information stand, there are loads of ways that you or your organisation can get involved and help us get information and advice to carers.
You will be able to register your 2018 event on the Carers UK website soon – if you held an event last year we’ll email you to let you know when you can register.
Once you sign up you’ll be able to order your free Carers Rights Day pack (including copies of the updated Looking After Someone Guide 2019). We’ll also keep you up to date with the latest news, event ideas and resources through our Carers Rights Day email updates.
