This MND Awareness Month, we want to reach as many people as possible. Here’s your chance to help us get the message out there by sharing a selfie of your eyes. Your selfie may then appear in our #MyEyesSay collage above. Try and find your selfie and click to enlarge.
STEP 1: TAKE A SELFIE
There are two easy ways to create your selfie. You could download one of our special Selfie Masks. Then, cut out a space for your eyes, add your message and take a selfie, just like the picture here.
Can’t download a mask? No problem, just take a selfie or get a friend to take a snap of your eyes.
STEP 2: SHARE YOUR SELFIE
Thank you for your support, we can’t wait to see your message.

Our #MyEyesSay posters can be seen at a number of locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We’ve made a set of the posters available in A4 size for you to download. These feature MND Association Patrons Stephen Hawking, Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne as well as Gemma and Dave.
MND stands for Motor Neurone Disease. It is not one specific disease but a group of them that effect the nerve cells. These nerve cells, or neurones, control muscles in our body and this group of diseases causes them to degenerate and die. MND is a widely used term in the UK, Europe and Australia. However, in the US, South America and Canada these diseases tend to be referred to as ALS. Degeneration of the nerve cells can happen very rapidly. The muscles that allow us to move around, speak, swallow and breath simply stop working. Life expectancy of sufferers is between 2 and 5 years.Global MND Awareness Day
There are people all over the world suffering with MND. It has no boundaries and the impact on sufferers loved ones can be profound. Members of the International Alliance use a special hashtag #ALSMNDWithoutBorders on June 21.
What is the Significance of June 21?
It is considered a turning point. It is a day when the MND community organise various activities. Not just to raise awareness but to voice their hope that the day will be a very special one in the future, in relation to finding the cause, treatment and cure for this group of chronic diseases.
