Celebrating its 16th year of raising awareness in cyber security, the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) works collaboratively with government and industry in an attempt to ensure that all Americans have the knowledge and resource to limit the threats posed and therefore stay safer and more secure online. NCSAM also aims to increase the resiliency of the country during a cyber threat.
The Department of Homeland Security is the federal, national lead for NCSAM. DHS also co-leads NCSAM with the National Cyber Security Alliance
NCSAM 2019 will emphasize personal accountability and stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. This year’s overarching message – Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. – will focus on key areas including citizen privacy, consumer devices, and ecommerce security.
The NCSAM has developed a Stop.Think.Connect. Toolkit to support anyone wishing to get involved in the campaign – be it individuals, schools or large organisations. This all inclusive campaign is one we should all take note of.
