SUMMARY:Ramadan 2027
DESCRIPTION:Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027 and end on Monday 8 March 2027\, with Eid al-Fitr expected on Tuesday 9 March 2027. Dates are expected and confirmed by moon sighting: Ramadan begins with the sighting of the new crescent moon\, so the start may fall a day later in some countries. \n\nRamadan dates (expected\, confirmed by moon sighting)\n\n\nYear\nExpected dates\n\n\n\n\n2026\nWednesday 18 February to Thursday 19 March 2026\n\n\n2027\nMonday 8 February to Monday 8 March 2027\n\n\n2028\nFriday 28 January to Saturday 26 February 2028\n\n\n\nWhat is Ramadan?\nRamadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and the month in which Muslims believe the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Fasting from dawn until sunset during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. Adults abstain from food\, drink and smoking during daylight hours\, break the fast each evening with a meal called iftar\, and rise before dawn for suhoor. The month is also a time for extra prayer\, charity and reading the Quran\, and it ends with the festival of Eid al-Fitr. \nBecause the Islamic calendar is around 11 days shorter than the solar year\, Ramadan moves earlier each year and passes through every season over roughly 33 years. Exact dates depend on the sighting of the new moon and can differ by a day between countries. In the UK\, guidance on dates and fasting times is published by mosques and bodies such as the Muslim Council of Britain\, which also produces resources for employers and schools. \nWhy it matters for marketers and organisations\nAround four million Muslims live in the UK and more than three million in the United States\, so Ramadan touches almost every workplace\, school and retailer. HR teams plan flexible hours\, prayer space and considerate scheduling of meetings and social events. Schools adjust PE and exam arrangements for fasting pupils. Supermarkets\, food brands and charities see a major uplift: Ramadan is the peak period for zakat and sadaqah giving\, and grocery sales of dates\, rice\, oil and sweets rise sharply. The right angle is respect and usefulness\, such as iftar timings\, inclusive food ranges and support for fasting colleagues\, rather than generic festive marketing. \nIdeas: how to mark Ramadan\n\nPublish a short guide for line managers on supporting fasting staff\, including flexible start times and lighter meeting schedules late in the day.\nProvide a quiet room for prayer and make sure it is available throughout the month.\nHost an open iftar for staff or the community\, inviting non Muslim colleagues to share the meal.\nAvoid scheduling team lunches\, drinks or exams during Ramadan where possible.\nRun a Ramadan food range or gift box with Halal certified products and clear labelling.\nMatch staff charitable giving to zakat eligible charities during the month.\nShare local sunrise and sunset times on your intranet or app for each day of the month.\nPlan Eid greetings and time off requests in advance rather than at the last minute.\n\nKey facts\n\nRamadan is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar and lasts 29 or 30 days.\nThe 2021 Census recorded 3.9 million Muslims in England and Wales\, 6.5 per cent of the population.\nFasting hours in the UK vary from around 10 hours in winter to more than 18 hours in midsummer.\nLaylat al-Qadr\, the Night of Power\, is observed in the last ten nights of the month\, most commonly on the 27th night.\nMuslim charities in the UK raise a large share of their annual income during Ramadan\, with the Charity Commission estimating well over 100 million pounds given each year.\n\nFrequently asked questions\nWhen is Ramadan 2028?\nRamadan 2028 is expected to begin on Friday 28 January 2028 and end on Saturday 26 February 2028\, with Eid al-Fitr expected on Sunday 27 February 2028. Final dates are confirmed by moon sighting and may differ by a day. \nWho is exempt from fasting?\nChildren\, people who are ill\, travellers\, pregnant and breastfeeding women\, and those for whom fasting would be harmful are exempt. Missed fasts are made up later or\, where that is not possible\, compensated by feeding those in need. \nCan I eat in front of a fasting colleague?\nYes. Most Muslims do not expect others to change their eating habits\, but it is thoughtful not to schedule food centred events during the month and to avoid commenting on a colleague’s fast. \nPublished 28 August 2026: dates checked for 2026 to 2028.

SUMMARY:National Flannel Day
DESCRIPTION:National Flannel Day is observed annually on 10 February\, celebrating flannel – one of the most versatile and enduringly popular fabrics in the world. In 2027\, National Flannel Day falls on Wednesday\, 10 February. \nWhat is National Flannel Day?\nNational Flannel Day is an annual celebration of flannel fabric and the garments made from it\, particularly the classic flannel shirt. The day encourages people to wear their favourite flannel piece – be it a shirt\, pyjamas\, or a blanket – and appreciate the fabric’s rich cultural history. Flannel transcends categories: it’s workwear\, it’s fashion\, it’s comfort. February\, one of the coldest months in the Northern Hemisphere\, is the ideal time to celebrate a fabric defined by warmth. \nWhen is National Flannel Day?\nNational Flannel Day takes place on Wednesday\, 10 February 2027. The date is fixed and falls on 10 February every year. \nHow to Celebrate National Flannel Day\nFlannel lends itself to celebration through the simple act of wearing it. Here’s how to join in: \n\nWear your favourite flannel shirt – Whether it’s a classic red-and-black buffalo check or a subtler plaid\, throw on your best flannel for the day. Layer it over a T-shirt\, wear it buttoned up\, or tie it around your waist for that 1990s look.\nOrganise a flannel day at work or school – Encourage colleagues or classmates to wear flannel for the day. It’s an easy\, fun dress-down theme that everyone can participate in.\nExplore flannel’s history – Read about how flannel evolved from Welsh sheep farmers’ cloth to a global fashion staple. Its journey through mining towns\, military use\, and the grunge movement is surprisingly rich.\nSpend a cosy evening in flannel pyjamas – Flannel pyjamas and bedsheets are among the fabric’s most popular uses. Pair them with a hot drink and a good book for peak comfort.\nShop for a new flannel piece – If your flannel collection needs refreshing\, use the day as an excuse to pick up a new shirt\, scarf\, or throw blanket. Support independent brands or vintage shops for something with character.\nCreate a grunge-era playlist – Flannel and grunge are inseparable. Queue up Nirvana\, Pearl Jam\, Soundgarden\, and Alice in Chains\, and transport yourself to early-1990s Seattle.\nShare your flannel style – Post photos of your flannel outfit on social media. Show how you style the fabric and inspire others to embrace the look.\n\nHistory of National Flannel Day\nNational Flannel Day has been celebrated since approximately 2013\, though the specific founder remains unknown. The day was established to honour flannel’s cultural and historical significance\, and its placement in February – mid-winter – makes perfect thematic sense for a fabric prized for its warmth. \nFlannel itself has a much longer history. The fabric originated in 17th-century Wales\, where it was woven from carded wool to keep shepherds and farmers warm in the damp climate. The word “flannel” is believed to derive from the Welsh word “gwlanen\,” meaning “woollen cloth.” From Wales\, flannel spread across Britain and Europe\, and by the 18th century it was being used for undergarments\, blankets\, and workwear. \nIn 19th-century America\, flannel became the fabric of choice for miners\, loggers\, railroad workers\, and factory hands. The classic flannel shirt – particularly in bold plaid patterns – became synonymous with manual labour and the American frontier. The fabric was tough\, warm\, and easy to maintain\, making it ideal for demanding outdoor work. \nFlannel’s biggest cultural moment came in the early 1990s\, when the grunge music scene elevated the flannel shirt from workwear to fashion statement. Bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam\, based in rainy Seattle\, wore flannel as everyday clothing\, and their fans adopted it as the uniform of a generation. The Bell Bottoms Day on 5 April similarly celebrates a fashion item that defined an era. Today\, flannel remains a year-round wardrobe staple\, valued for its comfort\, versatility\, and enduring style. \nFun Facts About Flannel\n\nThe word “flannel” comes from the Welsh “gwlanen\,” meaning “woollen cloth\,” reflecting the fabric’s origins in 17th-century Wales.\nModern flannel is made from cotton\, wool\, or synthetic fibres – not just the sheep’s wool of its origins.\nBuffalo plaid – the bold red-and-black check pattern most associated with flannel – was first produced by Woolrich in the 1850s.\nKurt Cobain’s flannel shirts have become collectors’ items\, with some selling at auction for thousands of dollars.\nIn cricket\, the traditional white trousers worn by players are historically called “flannels\,” a nod to the fabric’s British sporting heritage.\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\nWhat is National Flannel Day?\nNational Flannel Day is an annual celebration on 10 February dedicated to flannel fabric and the garments made from it\, especially the iconic flannel shirt. \nWhen is National Flannel Day in 2027?\nNational Flannel Day falls on Wednesday\, 10 February 2027. \nWhere did flannel originate?\nFlannel originated in 17th-century Wales\, where it was woven from carded wool to protect farmers and shepherds from the cold\, damp climate. It later spread across Europe and the Americas. \nSpread the Word\nCelebrate National Flannel Day by sharing your flannel style on social media with #NationalFlannelDay and #NationalFlannelDay2027. SUMMARY:Valentine’s Day 2027
DESCRIPTION:Valentine’s Day 2027 is Sunday 14 February 2027. It falls on 14 February every year. \n\nValentine’s Day dates\n\n\nYear\nDate\n\n\n\n\n2026\nSaturday 14 February 2026\n\n\n2027\nSunday 14 February 2027\n\n\n2028\nMonday 14 February 2028\n\n\n\nValentine’s Day\, held every year on February 14\, is a heartfelt celebration of love in all its forms. While traditionally known for romance\, it’s also a day to cherish friendship\, family\, and connection. Whether it’s through handwritten cards\, thoughtful gifts\, or quiet moments together\, the day invites us to pause and express what often goes unsaid. In 2027\, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday – giving many people the gift of time to make meaningful plans with those they care about most. \nWhat is Valentine’s Day?\nValentine’s Day – also known as Saint Valentine’s Day – is a global observance of love and affection. For some\, it’s a time to celebrate romantic partnerships. For others\, it’s a chance to show appreciation to friends\, family\, children\, or even pets. The traditions vary\, but the intent is the same: to let someone know they are loved and valued. \nClassic customs include exchanging cards\, giving flowers or sweets\, writing messages of affection\, and organizing special moments together. But over time\, Valentine’s Day has also become a space for celebrating all kinds of relationships\, including those rooted in community\, identity\, or chosen family. \nWhen is Valentine’s Day?\nValentine’s Day is celebrated each year on February 14. In 2027\, the date falls on a Sunday\, making it especially suitable for couples’ getaways\, family outings\, or community gatherings. Schools often mark the occasion with themed craft projects or card exchanges\, while workplaces and online spaces might use it to foster kindness and camaraderie. \n\nWhy Valentine’s Day Matters\nLove isn’t just a personal emotion – it’s a powerful social force. At a time when many people feel isolated or overwhelmed\, setting aside a day to express appreciation can have a real emotional impact. Valentine’s Day helps to break routine\, strengthen bonds\, and remind people that they matter. \nImportantly\, the day can also open up space for conversations about emotional wellbeing\, loneliness\, or grief. Not everyone has someone to celebrate with – and recognizing that can help us be more inclusive in how we observe the day. Whether it’s romantic or platonic\, familial or self-directed\, all love is worth celebrating. \nHow to Celebrate Valentine’s Day\nThere’s no single way to celebrate Valentine’s Day – and that’s part of its charm. Whether you’re in a relationship\, flying solo\, or celebrating with friends or family\, here are some thoughtful ways to mark the occasion: \n\nGive a meaningful gift: Whether it’s a handmade card\, a small keepsake\, or a bouquet of someone’s favorite flowers\, thoughtful gifts speak volumes.\nWrite a letter: A handwritten note can express appreciation in a way few things can. It doesn’t have to be poetic – just honest and personal.\nShare a meal: Cook together at home\, order from a favorite restaurant\, or pack a picnic if weather allows. Food has a way of bringing people closer.\nSpend quality time: Watch a nostalgic movie\, go for a long walk\, or take a break from screens to simply talk and reconnect.\nCelebrate friendship: Host a “Galentine’s” or “Palentine’s” gathering\, write appreciation notes to your support network\, or make someone feel seen.\n\nIt’s not about doing something big or extravagant – it’s about making someone feel loved and remembered. \nHistory of Valentine’s Day\nValentine’s Day has roots in ancient Roman and early Christian traditions. The holiday is named after Saint Valentine\, believed to be a priest who defied a ban on marriage by secretly officiating weddings for young couples. According to legend\, he was imprisoned and executed for his defiance – but not before writing a final note to a loved one signed\, “from your Valentine.” \nOver time\, the holiday evolved through medieval and Victorian traditions. By the 18th century\, exchanging tokens and letters became common in England and France. In the United States\, printed cards started appearing in the 19th century\, paving the way for the modern commercial celebration we see today. \nThough its commercial aspects are sometimes critiqued\, the core idea – expressing love and connection – has remained central for centuries. \nNoteworthy Facts About Valentine’s Day\n\nValentine’s Day is the second most popular card-giving holiday in the U.S.\, following Christmas.\nTeachers receive the most Valentine’s cards each year – even more than partners or parents.\nIn Finland and Estonia\, February 14 is known as “Friendship Day” and centers around platonic love and community.\nApproximately 250 million roses are grown for Valentine’s Day each year – most of them red.\nIn recent years\, self-love and mental health campaigns have gained popularity as alternative ways to observe the day.\n\nHashtags\n#ValentinesDay\, #ValentinesDay2027\, #LoveIsInTheAir\, #RomanticMoments\, #SpreadLove\, #CupidStrikes \n \nUpdated 28 August 2026: dates checked for 2026 to 2028.

SUMMARY:Super Bowl 2027
DESCRIPTION:Super Bowl 2027 is Sunday\, February 14\, 2027. Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood\, California\, the date confirmed by the NFL\, which schedules the game on the Sunday after the conference championship games. \n\nSuper Bowl dates\n\n\nYear\nGame\nDate and venue\n\n\n\n\n2026\nSuper Bowl LX\nSunday\, February 8\, 2026\, Levi’s Stadium\, Santa Clara\n\n\n2027\nSuper Bowl LXI\nSunday\, February 14\, 2027\, SoFi Stadium\, Inglewood\n\n\n2028\nSuper Bowl LXII\nSunday\, February 13\, 2028\, Mercedes-Benz Stadium\, Atlanta\n\n\n\nWhat is the Super Bowl?\nThe Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League\, played between the winners of the AFC and NFC. The first game was played on January 15\, 1967\, between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs\, and it has since become the most watched annual broadcast in the United States. Super Bowl LXI in 2027 returns to SoFi Stadium\, which hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022\, and will be broadcast by ABC and ESPN with Spanish language coverage on Univision. Official details are published by the NFL. \nSuper Bowl Sunday is effectively an unofficial national holiday. The game\, the halftime show and the commercials each draw their own audience\, and the day is the second largest food consumption occasion in the US after Thanksgiving. The 2026 edition falling on Valentine’s Day weekend and the 2027 game landing on February 14 itself gives brands an unusual overlap of two major moments. \nWhy it matters for marketers and organisations\nThe Super Bowl is the most expensive advertising slot in the world\, with a 30 second commercial costing around 8 million dollars in 2025\, and that spend spills into weeks of social\, PR and retail activity. Grocery\, snack\, beverage and takeout businesses plan for their biggest weekend of the first quarter; sports bars and streaming services compete for viewers; and employers brace for reduced productivity on the Monday after. Charities and public health bodies use the moment for messaging on responsible drinking and heart health. For brands outside the US\, the angle is the halftime show and the ads\, which travel globally on social media. \nIdeas: how to mark the Super Bowl\n\nPublish a game day recipe or snack guide with a shopping list a week before.\nRun a real time social commentary on the ads and halftime show with a clear brand voice.\nHost a watch party for staff or customers with a small prop bet sweepstake for charity.\nOffer a delivery or takeout bundle for groups that can be pre ordered by Friday.\nGive staff a late start on the Monday after if your business allows it.\nCreate a Valentine’s Day and Super Bowl crossover offer for 2027 when the two coincide.\nShare a short explainer on the rules for international audiences new to the game.\nTime a product reveal to the Monday after\, when conversation about the ads peaks.\n\nKey facts\n\nThe first Super Bowl was played on January 15\, 1967\, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.\nSuper Bowl LVIII in February 2024 drew an average US audience of 123.4 million\, then a record.\nThe Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots share the record with six Super Bowl wins each.\nThe Kansas City Chiefs won back to back titles in Super Bowls LVII and LVIII.\nSuper Bowl LXI is the third Super Bowl held in the Los Angeles area since 1993\, after SoFi Stadium hosted LVI in 2022.\nThe trophy is named after Vince Lombardi\, who coached Green Bay to victory in the first two games.\n\nFrequently asked questions\nWhen is the Super Bowl 2028?\nSuper Bowl LXII is scheduled for Sunday\, February 13\, 2028\, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta\, Georgia. The NFL confirms the date as part of the annual schedule release. \nWhat time does the Super Bowl start in the UK?\nKickoff is usually around 6:30 pm Eastern\, which is 11:30 pm in the UK\, with the game finishing around 3 am. UK coverage has been carried by ITV and Sky Sports in recent seasons. \nWho is performing at the Super Bowl LXI halftime show?\nThe NFL and its music partner typically announce the halftime performer in the autumn before the game. Check the NFL website for the official announcement once it is made. \nPublished 28 August 2026: dates checked for 2026 to 2028.

Despite this\, cutting back on the booze can reduce your risk of at least 6 types of cancer. \nWe want to spread awareness of the cancer risks of drinking alcohol and hold the government to account in creating an environment where everyone can choose to reduce their alcohol consumption. \nWhen is Cancer Prevention Action Week?\nCancer Prevention Action Week 2027 will take place from the 16th-22nd of February. \nHow to get involved in Cancer Prevention Action Week 2027\nTo find out more please visit the World Cancer Research Fund website. \nThe charity has also created a campaign toolkit which you can download. It will give you more information on the campaign\, as well as copy to use on social media which you can pair up with images. \nSupport our life-changing work\nWhy not replace a drink with a donation to World Cancer Research Fund as a reminder of why it’s so important to be aware of how much\, when\, and why you drink? \nCurrently\, one in two people in the UK will develop cancer in their lifetime. Every gift we receive\, whether big or small\, helps us achieve our vision of living in a world where no one develops a preventable cancer. \n[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
