|On the nation’s first Plant Power Day (Wednesday 7th March 2018) Alpro is calling on Brits to makeover their meals and bring plant-based foods to the top of the menu. The whole day is dedicated to inspiring people to put plants first – which means, just for one day, making plant-based foods the first thing they think about when it comes to their food and drink choices.
The idea is that once people see how delicious and easy it can be, and the difference it can make to our health, and the planet, more of us might just start putting plants first more often in the future.
Alpro want everyone to see how easy it can be to add more plants at mealtimes – to put plants first and pile them high.
The more people that get involved and start to switch up their mindset a little, putting plants first at mealtimes, most of the time, the more of a difference we can make to our health and the health of our planet.
Because whether someone’s a meat-eater, 100% plant-eater, pescatarian or flexitarian, if we all start adding more plants (in the way that works for us, right now), the better for us all right?
If you want to get involved, we urge you to host your own ‘planquet’. A planquet is a meal that puts plants first. It can be big or small, from a plant-based feast with friends or family, or a plant-based breakfast at your desk, it just needs to bring plants from the side of the plate to a delicious main event.
