Purple Day 2020

Originating in Canada, Purple Day was invented by the incredible Cassidy Megan, a young girl who created the initiative in 2008 after getting motivated by the struggles she had with epilepsy. It’s a simple affair: you’re encouraged to wear purple and raise awareness for the cause!

Originally, the initiative started out on a small level; Cassidy’s idea was picked up, and then supported, by the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia in 2008. Since then, it has taken on a whole new level, and in the UK alone, it’s backed by no fewer than eight charities including Epilepsy Action, Epilepsy Research and the Epilepsy Society.

Purple Day – international epilepsy day – returns on Thursday 26 March 2020, and here at Young Epilespy, we want to make it the biggest yet.

Did you know that 87 people are diagnosed with epilepsy every day?

Epilepsy can affect anyone, anytime, anyplace and can change lives in a moment.

To help raise funds and awareness tell us what your purple moment will be this Purple Day. It could be a purple cake bake, purple plod, purple plunge, purple dress down, purple hair day or turn your school, town or office purple.
