World Toilet Day 2019

Were you aware of the fact that around 1 out of every 3 people goes without a toilet? It might sound like a strange fact; however, it is a serious problem.

That’s why on November 19, people like WaterAid and UnWater are trying their very best to change this situation and aim to have a clean, safe and private toilet to everyone one, everywhere by 2030.

How will this be achieved?

Well, a topic like this can be quite difficult to push through to the world, much like a big number two! That’s why humour and comedy are being used to break down the awkwardness and get the movement flowing!

If you are a school student in the UK, you are encouraged to start writing your own riddles, puns, jokes or even comedy shows and sketches to get the word out there about World Toilet Day.

Once you’ve given that a go, try raising the issue with one of your local MPs, get them involved with the campaign by tweeting your own well written jokes with hashtags #WorldToiletDay and #ItsNoJoke.

If you’re a teacher, you can always find a lesson plan and some resources to support and give a number 1 lesson on taps and toilets.

In all seriousness, if we can reduce human waste by giving everyone access to clean toilets, we can then also make the world a better place.

Let’s go help those in need with World Toilet Day.
