National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2018

This October understand how to  keep your precious data safe by taking time to learn how viruses work, risks to avoid and tips to keep your computer safe.

Celebrating its 15th year of raising awareness in cyber security, the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) works collaboratively with government and industry in an attempt to ensure that all Americans have the knowledge and resource to limit the threats posed and therefore stay safer and more secure online.  NCSAM also aims to increase the resiliency of the country during a cyber threat.

The Department of Homeland Security is the federal, national lead for NCSAM. DHS also co-leads NCSAM with the National Cyber Security Alliance

This year, 2018, the DHS is promoting and emphasising the overarching theme that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and one that everyone must work together to improve.  With a month of activity, research, events and discussions based around 4 key messages to support the overarching theme, the NCSAM hopes that awareness and fundamentally security will be raised and improved.

The NCSAM has developed a Stop.Think.Connect. Toolkit to support anyone wishing to get involved in the campaign – be it individuals, schools or large organisations.  This all inclusive campaign is one we should all take note of.
