Parkinson’s Awareness Week kicks starts on April 7th and runs until the 13th of April, with World Parkinson’s Day falling right in the middle on the 11th of April.
As there is no cure for Parkinson’s, this is an annual opportunity to raise awareness and much needed funds to support people with living with the condition, to improve quality of life and to ensure that people live better for longer.
Up to 50% of people with Parkinson’s will suffer from Anxiety or Depression at some point during their illness. These conditions are often overlooked and undiagnosed. Living with Anxiety or Depression with Parkinson’s will worsen symptoms such as tremor, stiffness, sleep problems and pain and much more. When left untreated, Anxiety and Depression reduces quality of life.
Join in this awareness week to find out more about mental health and Parkinson’s. We have a calendar of activities taking place every day from the 10th April- 16th April 2026 where everyone can get involved.
All of our work is funded by the public through donations. Help us to improve life of more people affected by Parkinson’s today, not tomorrow. To donate or fundraise now to support any area of our work including the Parkinson’s Mental Health Support Hub, Respite Care, Research, Exercise Programmes and Neurological Physiotherapy, visit http://www.parkinsonscare.org.uk/donate.
