- Teachers and youth workers: Brake’s educator resources include a toolkit, posters and activities for different age groups.
- Employers: use the employer resources when preparing a staff campaign or driver briefing.
- Community groups: start with the main campaign page to find participation and fundraising options.
This year's campaign
The campaign brings schools, employers and communities together to work towards safer roads. The 2026 theme considers how people use roads when walking, wheeling, riding and driving, and the responsibility to protect more vulnerable road users.
Ideas for Road Safety Week at school
These are our planning suggestions for a school programme. Use Brake’s materials to choose the road safety messages for the age group.
- Before the week: book assembly or lesson time, choose the relevant activities and tell parents and carers what the school will cover.
- During the week: invite pupils to discuss their journey to school using a map or classroom activity. They can identify questions to put to the school’s road safety lead without needing to visit a road.
- After the week: decide who will follow up any concerns about the school entrance, parking or local routes, and tell families what happens next.
Any activity outside the school needs the usual permissions, supervision and risk assessment. A classroom discussion does not need to become a roadside demonstration.
Ideas for employers and communications teams
Choose one issue your organisation can act on, such as how work journeys are planned or how staff report a road safety concern. Use the week to explain the existing process, invite feedback and agree a follow-up with the person responsible.
For a newsletter or social post, include the confirmed dates, the UK organiser and a direct link to a relevant resource. Describe a change your organisation is making rather than relying on a general message to drive safely.
Brake also runs The Big Tea Brake, a fundraising activity that can be held during November. Its campaign page explains how to take part and how fundraising supports the charity’s work.

Road Safety Week dates and organisers
Are these the dates for every country?
No. This page covers Brake’s UK Road Safety Week, 15 to 21 November 2026. Check the local organiser for similarly named campaigns in other countries.
When is Road Safety Week 2027?
Brake’s pages checked on 21 October 2026 announce the 2026 campaign. We have not confirmed 2027 dates from those pages, so do not use a fixed weekday calculation to book next year’s week.
