What and when is British Carrot Day 2026?

British Carrot Day will take place on Friday 3rd October – a day for the nation to celebrate the UK carrot and its farmers. We encourage you to buy, get creative, eat, and cook with carrots.

This day has been created because the returns farmers make from growing carrots, which is a high-risk crop, are very low. So, boosting consumption by a small amount, in many homes, will support our UK carrot farmers. Carrots are a cheap, versatile and highly nutritious vegetable that will benefit people’s health as well as support an important British vegetable in the industry.

Carrots are the one of the nation’s most favourite vegetable – 75% of Britons say they eat carrots regularly and we crunch our way through more than 10 billion of them each year.

How to get involved in British Carrot Day

Show your love of this hugely versatile and nation-wide loved vegetable on social media by posting carrot-tastic creativity and adding the hashtag #BritishCarrotDay and be sure to Follow the British Carrot Growers Association on their socials!
