On Wednesday 11 April 2018 we celebrated World Parkinson’s Day to raise awareness of the condition and change attitudes.
We teamed up with the European Parkinson’s Disease Association and other international partners to launch #UniteForParkinsons – a global campaign that aims to show the world what Parkinson’s truly is.
WHAT DID WE ACHIEVE?
The campaign received amazing support from across the UK and the world. Here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
- People from 199 different countries visited our uniteforparkinsons.org website.
- The #UniteForParkinsons hashtag was used more than 16,000 times.
- We ran a 24-hour media marathon on the day and secured more than 100 pieces of coverage with a total reach of over 1 million people.
- People held events to raise awareness and understanding of Parkinson’s, including fundraisers and dance workshops.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and supported the campaign.
