History of the Event

National Punctuation Day was founded in 2004 by Jeff Rubin, a writer and former newspaper reporter, who wanted to draw attention to the importance of proper punctuation in writing. Frustrated by the frequent misuse of punctuation marks, Rubin created the day to highlight how punctuation affects clarity and meaning in communication.
