About Neurodiversity Celebration Week
Founded by Siena Castellon in 2018, the worldwide campaign challenges misconceptions about neurological differences. Schools, universities and employers take part to improve understanding and support for neurodivergent people.
Dates, themes and previous events
Is there a confirmed theme for 2027?
The organiser has announced 15 to 19 March 2027. Its website still includes sections explicitly labelled 2026; we have not verified a separate 2027 theme on the pages checked on 21 October 2026. Use the campaign name in early plans and check the official site before adding an annual slogan.
When was Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2026?
It ran from 16 to 20 March 2026. The organiser retains its 2026 events programme and recordings. Those dates should not be used for the 2027 campaign.
For a separate UK campaign focused on dyslexia, see Dyslexia Awareness Week.
How to take part in 2027
Register for updates through the official website and use the resources for your setting:
- Schools: the school resource page links to a school pack, downloadable activities, presentations for primary and secondary schools, videos and podcasts.
- Employers: the organisation resource page offers an organisation pack, a resource hub and conversation activities.
- Event planners: follow the campaign website for the programme and registration details before advertising a session.
Some resources and recordings currently linked from the site are labelled 2026. They can help with preparation, but check the edition before using campaign dates, artwork or webinar details.
Planning the week at school
These are our suggestions for using the week in a school calendar:
- Choose the material first. Review an official presentation or activity for the age group before booking assembly time.
- Offer different ways to join in. Allow pupils to listen, write or contribute privately rather than requiring everyone to speak in front of a group.
- Review one classroom routine. Ask what would make instructions, transitions or group work easier, and choose a change to try after the week.
Keep activities about understanding and inclusion. They should not ask pupils to identify classmates’ conditions or disclose their own.
Planning the week at work
A useful workplace programme needs a follow-up as well as a launch. Choose one issue, such as unclear recruitment instructions or meeting information arriving too late, and invite feedback before the week. Use a session to discuss possible changes, then assign an owner and a review date.
If colleagues want to contribute personal experiences, agree how their words will be used and whether a session will be recorded. Offer an anonymous route for feedback and make participation optional.
