What is Independent Retailer Month?
Established in 2011 by Tom Shay and Kerry Bannigan, Independent Retailer Month aims to promote the benefits of shopping with independent businesses. The campaign underscores the importance of these retailers in providing personalized services, unique products, and contributing to the local economy. In the UK, the movement was championed by Clare Rayner, known as “The Retail Champion,” who expanded the initiative to encourage UK consumers to support their local independent shops.

When is Independent Retailer Month?
