About World Kindness Day 2026: Friday 13 November
World Kindness Day 2026 is on Friday 13 November 2026. The day encourages people, schools and organisations to notice and practise kindness. It was started by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of kindness organisations from around the world.

What’s happening in 2026
- The 2026 theme has not been announced yet (as of 27 September 2026). Check the World Kindness Movement for updates. We will add it here once it is published.
- It is Friday the 13th. The date falls on a Friday the 13th in 2026, which gives schools and social media teams an easy hook: turn an “unlucky” day into a kind one.
- A school day and a work day. Unlike 2027, when it falls on a Saturday, the 2026 date lands in term time and at the end of the working week, so classroom and office activities can happen on the day itself.
- It leads straight into Anti-Bullying Week. Anti-Bullying Week 2026 runs from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November with the theme “Break the Silence”, starting with Odd Socks Day on the Monday. Many UK schools will plan the two together.
- Resources from the US. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation publishes World Kindness Day materials, including short videos on kindness at school and at work.
How to take part in 2026
- Primary schools: run a “Friday the 13th kindness challenge” in which each class completes 13 kind acts during the day and records them on a display that stays up for Anti-Bullying Week.
- Secondary schools: ask tutor groups to write anonymous thank-you notes to staff who are rarely thanked, such as cleaners, catering and site teams.
- Workplaces: use Friday afternoon for a thank-you round: each person names one colleague who helped them this month and why.
- Communities: a weekend of kindness on 13 to 15 November works well for litter picks, food bank collections or checking in on neighbours who live alone. With the clocks already back and evenings dark by late afternoon, a knock on the door or a phone call can matter more in mid-November than earlier in the autumn.
- Online: commit to one kind comment or review a day from 13 November to the end of Anti-Bullying Week on 20 November.
