What is Aromatherapy Awareness Week?
Aromatherapy Awareness Week is an awareness initiative hosted by the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA). The organisation uses the campaign to discuss aromatherapy, professional practice and the role it believes aromatherapy can play in wellbeing. Its campaign page is the source for its own programme and participation details.
Aromatherapy uses essential oils from plants as a complementary health approach. The US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) describes the practice and explains that evidence depends on the particular use being studied; for example, it says rigorous research on aromatherapy for insomnia is limited. Campaign publicity should not turn this into a general promise of better physical or mental health.
When is the campaign?
The current calendar record lists 14–20 June 2027, but that range should not be described as an organiser-confirmed edition. Check the IFA campaign page before booking dated activity. This verification status does not establish whether a 2027 announcement exists elsewhere.
How to get involved
- Read the IFA’s applicable-year materials and check the actual dates and organisers of any advertised workshop or webinar.
- Arrange a discussion about how to distinguish campaign claims, personal experiences and clinical research.
- Ask speakers to explain their qualifications, commercial interests and the limits of the evidence they discuss.
- Provide a scent-free way to participate; do not assume everyone wants to use or sample a product.
- Share the original source alongside a post, rather than repeating an unsourced health claim or an old annual slogan.
Planning for workplaces and community groups
Keep attendance voluntary and make the purpose clear. An information event can cover the campaign’s aims, advertising literacy and where to find reliable health information. Product sales and demonstrations should be clearly identified, and participation should not require a purchase.
For personal questions about essential oils or treatment, consult a suitable healthcare professional and reliable health information. This calendar guide does not provide oil recipes, doses or instructions for treating a condition.
